Faculty of Management Technology was formerly known as the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. In the past, year 1979, the College of Technology and Vocational Education, Agriculture Nakhon Sri Thammarat Campus, opened an additional instruction course in High Vocational certificate level the Agricultural Business Management department. Later, the College of Technology and Vocational Education, Agriculture Nakhon Sri Thammarat Campus was given a new royal name as Rajamangala Institute of Technology, Nakhon Sri Thammarat Campus. In the year 1989, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration had opened courses in High Vocational certificate level including Agriculture-Business management Course, and Business-Computer Course, The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration developed continuously until the year 2002 which opened 2 more programs such as the management program and the marketing program. The course Bachelor’s Degree in Management was opened in 2002. The course Bachelor’s Degree in marketing was opened in 2003. The course Computer Information System was opened in 2005 and the Accounting Course in 2006.
Later in the year 2008, it was changed to Faculty of Management Technology Establishment Project. There was the teaching of social science in 4 business administration fields such as Management, Accounting, Marketing, and Information Management System. Under the Faculty of Science and Technology, we teach and produce graduates based on the vision that focuses in Science. This is different from the vision of teaching and producing graduates in social science in business administration field. Therefore, for clarity in managing education and framework development in producing graduates of social science in business administration with quality and performance, Rajamanagala University of Technology Srivijaya has determined to establish the Faculty of Management Technology to expand educational opportunities for students in the area of Nakhon Sri Thammarat which is far from the Faculty of Business Administration located at the University of Technology Srivijaya, Songkhla Campus in a distance of about 200 kilometers, which is not convenient for management staff and students. In addition, the service area of Nakhon Sri Thammarat (Saiyai) campus covers the central south area of which most students are residents of Nakhon Sri Thammarat and the neighboring provinces. This is expanding education opportunities for students in the area according to the policy of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya.
Based on the principles and reasons mentioned above, on July 25th, 2008, it was approved by the Council of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya to be the Faculty of Management Technology under the control of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Nakhon Sri Thammarat (Saiyai) Campus, to support the operation and management under the policy of Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya and respond to the needs of the labor market and community. The color of the Faculty of Management Technology is violet or purple that represents sturdiness, solidity, fortitude, and success.
